Rebuild the missing context
Assume the recipient will not remember every date, promise, or earlier conversation. For a message about how to resolve a shared parking problem, use this factual base: record the property, room, payment, repair, behavior, and relevant lease or household agreement.
Say what needs to happen next
State the decision, information, or practical action you need and include a real deadline only when one exists. Ask for one remedy with reasonable access and timing, then document what was agreed. Make the immediate next step clear enough that the recipient can answer without reconstructing the entire history.
Avoid making urgency into pressure
Do not enter private space, withhold essential services, threaten eviction, or change locks without lawful authority. Use emergency, housing, tenant, health, or legal support for unsafe conditions, violence, or unlawful conduct. Do not make the other person responsible for reducing the discomfort that prompted you to write.
